Back to Black is the second studio album by English recording artist Amy Winehouse. It was released on October 27, 2006 through Island Records.

Writing and development[]

The title song "Back to Black" is thought to have been inspired by Amy's relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil. Amy had an affair with Fielder-Civil, when they were both in relationships with other people. Eventually Fielder-Civil went back to his ex-girlfriend whom he left for Winehouse ("You go back to her and I go back to black").
